Ripples of excitement ran through the Lockdown camp today when the gorgeous Faye Dinsmore announced on her site for the Irish Fashion Awards that our little Cork based agency with a big heart has won the Peoples Choice Award for ‘Most Influential Model Agency in Ireland’.

Our young directors Emer O’Sullivan & Vivienne Kelly, have worked multiple jobs and made many sacrifices behind the scenes over the past 5 years to slowly build a reputable agency that would raise the standard of models here. Lockdown’s leading ladies today thanked their team of models, staff and clients for the votes & support over the past 5 years. ’We are over the moon with today’s news, we can’t thank everyone enough for putting us up there with the best in the country, it’s such an honour & we really look forward to flying the Lockdown flag at the Mansion House in 2weeks time’ said Vivienne. ’We have always surrounded ourselves with models & staff that are as positive and hard working as we are and I think our clients have solid faith in our future vision & services as a result’ said Emer. Thanks to their hard work & foward vision, many of the faces on Lockdown’s books have had the opportunity to model abroad, not to mention all the business and prosperity they have brought to Munster through their spectacular Cork Fashion Week which this year, celebrates it’s third year. Cork Fashion Week, the brainchild of Emer & Vivienne, has provided a huge professional platform for many homegrown fashion designers, design students, makeup artists, stylists, hair stylists, bloggers etc. and has attracted a national following to Cork for the annual shows each year.

Help us find a CFW fashion show venue

With all our annual shows taking place in the gorgeous hotels, clubs, shopping centres and outdoor locations that our beautiful city boasts, we are looking outside the box for a new venue to host one of our biggest Cork Fashion Week 2011 shows and we are open to suggestions from you – the people we run these events for.

We may be a long time away from the amazing shows we aspire to emulate at NY, London, Paris & Milan Fashion Weeks – and perhaps a few years short of their budgets to boot! But we know that our little city has a wealth of artistic people working from venues that are off the commercial and obvious trail for event venues. We established Cork Fashion Week to promote an ever growing underground artistic movement in Cork that we wanted to bring to a more public platform through our events. Fusing the talents & ideas of fashion designers, students, bloggers, makeup artists, hair stylists and business owners in the local fashion industry, we are very excited about working with everyone this year again. Our events are ready to go for CFW 2011, we are just looking for a great venue that represents what Cork embodies and CFW embodies for one of our biggest shows of the week.
Any suggestions?……
